Ministries
Children's Church
Children’s Church convenes on Sunday mornings during service. Immediately after worship, children, ages 2-14 are dismissed to their age appropriate classes. It is a vibrant and active ministry where time is also spent outdoors during all seasons.
Destiny Youth
Destiny Youth Ministry seeks to connect youth ages (11-17) with God, discover their purpose and fulfill their destinies. Our desire is to see youth win in every area of their lives.
WHOLE Program
This program is in response to a 2017 survey conducted by the Cambridge Community Health Network Area (CHNA 17) which examined how the Black community in the Cambridge area engaged in mental health services. The result of the survey showed there is an enormous stigma associated with mental health in the Black community, especially communities of faith. Some of the findings were that people don’t talk about mental health inside the church; people fear having to explain their faith or being labeled as “crazy” by a provider; and being told that they simply need to pray more.
Under the leadership of Rev. Lorraine A. Thornhill, Kingdom Empowerment Center (KEC) was awarded a grant from CHNA17 to address Mental Health in the Black Faith community. We hope to diminish the stigma associated with this topic by teaching, training and equipping the faith community. Our hope is to reach each generation via various events, forums and support groups.

Community Outreach
Annual Thanksgiving Gift Certificates
For over 50 years we have supplied families in need with means to a complete Thanksgiving Meals.
Annual Port Fair
For over 20 yrs we have held this summer event to celebrate the children in the community. This event is an organized day of fun in a local park where children can enjoy rides, face painting and other fun activities. It is a fun event that prepares children for the approaching school year where each child is given a free backpack along with school supplies and reading books. We average 800 backpacks a year and anticipate that this number will increase as word spreads about the event each year.
RED CROSS
Once a month (every third Saturday) a group volunteers at the Red Cross /Boston Food Pantry, one of the largest food pantries in NE located at 1033 Mass Ave, Boston. The volunteers perform tasks ranging from assembling food bags with fruit, vegetables, dry & canned goods, greeting & registering recipients, distributing food bags and delivering the bags to their vehicles. We believe that the most important aspect of this ministry is our opportunity to serve those in need with respect and a smile.
Women's Ministry
Women’s Ministry creates a safe space for women to share and support each other. We recognize that our various roles as mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, mentor, friend etc. often leaves us empty, overwhelmed and stressed. We believe that in order for us to live the abundant life that God has for us, we need a place and time to replenish and rejuvenate on a consistent basis.
L.I.G.H.T. Steppers
Established in 2008, the L.I.G.H.T. Step team is a youth ministry comprised of members, ages 9-18, from Kingdom Empowerment Center in Cambridge, MA. The mission is to build young Leaders to Introduce God’s Holy Truth in a way that they themselves and their peers can relate. This is done through the recitation of scripture and rhythmic praise of clapping, stomping and using props. The L.I.G.H.T. Steppers have ministered at various churches and community events around the Greater Boston area, winning first place at their first competition at Bentley University’s ‘Set the Stage on Fire’ step show. This competitive step team has gone on to place at every competition thereafter. Wherever they go, it is their desire to bring forth a praise that will literally shake the foundation of the earth.
