Our Leaders
The Pastoral Team works closely with Apostle Lorraine in the overall leadership of KEC. The team oversees the ministries, provides pastoral care and participates in all functions in the ministry.
Pastor Lorraine Thornhill
In 1997, Pastor Lorraine became the first female Pastor of the First Holiness Church in Cambridge, MA; later to become Kingdom Empowerment Center. Rev. Lorraine Thornhill believes in the possibility of a world where people are well cared for and have all they need. She devotes herself to building that reality and equipping people along the way. For over 30 years, she has been guiding people to improving their lives through her work as a Senior Pastor, community leader, and counselor/coach. ​ Rev. Thornhill serves as the Lead Pastor of the Kingdom Empowerment Center and the Founder/CEO of We Heal Ourselves with Love & Empowerment (WHOLE): A community-based program in Cambridge, Massachusetts created to meet various existing mental health needs in the BIPOC community. She is also the founder of Higher Heights LLC, a life coaching and consulting business that specializes in the study and practice of leadership development, executive coaching, and team development. Rev. Thornhill has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in education with a concentration in human development and psychology. She is a constant learner and was recently certified as a Practitioner of the Everything DiSC and The Five Behaviors of a Team. She also has a postgraduate certificate in psychotherapy from the Boston Institute of Psychotherapy. In 2020, she became a certified instructor in Mental Health First Aid with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. This is a skills-based course that teaches individuals to identify, understand and respond to mental health and substance use challenges. Since her certification, Rev. Thornhill has been teaching this course across city and state lines. For over 30 years, she has been guiding people to improving their lives through her work as a Senior Pastor, community leader, and counselor/coach. She is driven by her faith and passion to see people empowered and transformed. ​ Rev. Thornhill is actively involved in communities beyond the walls of her church. She currently serves as a board member for the Cambridge Community Foundation, a Commissioner for the City of Cambridge’s Human Service Department, and a Chaplain for the Cambridge Police Department. She has served as President of the Board of the Cambridge Black Pastor’s Alliance, and the Cambridge YWCA. Past Board participation included Safe Havens Interfaith Partnership Against Domestic Violence and Cambridge Cares about Aids. In all these roles, she holds herself to the highest standard of integrity and leads by example. Rev. Thornhill enjoys traveling, reading mystery books, puzzles/games, and listening to music. She is most grateful for her mother’s love for family.

Pastor Margo Brathwaite
Rev. Margo Brathwaite is enthusiastic about prayer and worship and encouraging individuals to know the importance of developing a personal relationship with God, the Father. She believes that knowing and accepting the unconditional love of God frees us to live fulfilling lives. Rev. Margo is actively involved in various leadership roles at KEC and KEC’s mental health program WHOLE. She is in her wheelhouse when she’s teaching personal financial skills to marginalized communities. She enjoys nature and traveling.
Pastor Carlos & Deacon Cheryl Maynard
Rev. Carlos L. Maynard is passionate about teaching and studying the Word of God. He is a teacher vocationally and professionally. One of his priorities is to communicate the importance of leadership development and mentoring in the body of Christ. Rev. Carlos enjoys learning new things whether it’s through movies, travel, reading or dialogue. He is most grateful for his family’s support system, as well as health, strength, and opportunities to be a blessing. Deacon Cheryl supports various ministries and enjoys traveling.
Pastor Glenda Allsopp
Rev. Glenda L. Allsopp is an entrepreneur who consults in accounting and finance to both the for-profit and non-profit areas. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from Boston College and an M.B.A. from Simmons Graduate School of Management. She is a contributor in ministry who shares her resources and talents to benefit the church and the community at large. She lives her life in a way that reflects her faith, walking out the true meaning of Kingdom citizenship. Rev. Glenda has been Kingdom Empowerment Center’s Treasurer for many years, which has provided her with extensive experience with nonprofit accounting and financial issues. As a result, she has a passion to see the church-at-large become organizationally, administratively, and fiscally sound and to empower individuals to become financially responsible. Community Service is very important to Glenda. She shares her resources and talents by serving on the board of Hildebrand Self Help Center–an organization that serves the needs of homeless families in Boston, Greater Boston, and Cambridge–and by volunteering at the Red Cross Food Pantry in Boston. Rev. Glenda’s favorite pastime is traveling because it contributes to her personal growth by expanding her worldview and her mind. Being out of her natural element forces her to constantly try and learn new things, while having to navigate challenges in places that are not familiar.
Pastor Steve & Deacon Marsha Montaque
Rev. Steve Montaque is blessed to be a part of KEC and believes its teaching, preaching, and worship usher us into the presence of God. He holds a Divinity degree from the West Indies. Rev. Steve is gifted in empathy, wisdom and the ability to help individuals navigate life’s challenges with faith while encouraging them to keep their hope in God. He’s passionate about souls, caring for the needs of the congregation and members of our community. He is most grateful for the expansion of love within his heart; the ability to love unconditionally and extend compassion to others. In his free time, he enjoys reading, watching movies and spending time with his family. Deacon Marsha supports various ministries within KEC with her organizational, creative and spiritual insight. She is passionate about people and is committed to helping heal, build, uplift and impact the Kingdom. Rev. Steve and Deacon Marsha have four children, Khaneil, Khai, Stephen and Skylar.
